Description

Description Fe4GeTe2 is a two-dimensional magnet with near room temperature ferromagnetism with Tc=270 K. It crystallizes in the rhombohedral structure R3m with vdW gaps between the layers. Fe4GeTe2 has Fe-Fe dumbbell building blocks that are plane-separated from the Ge atoms and directly bonded to the tellurium atoms.
Fe4GeTe2 crystal growth requires rather careful synthesis conditions in the Fe-Ge-Te phase triangle, and our novelty relies on our ability to synthesize Fe4GeTe2 without any other Fe3GeTe2 and Fe5GeTe3 phases.
