Tungsten Ditelluride Solution Customization

Tungsten ditelluride (WTe2) is a disulfide of tungsten (TMD). Unlike the common semiconductor TMDC, which is stable in a 2H structure, WTe2 is stable in a deformed 1T structure, giving it semimetallic characteristics and allowing it to be used in novel ways. Next-generation batteries, such as sodium and potassium ion batteries, are expected to use WTe2. This is due to WTe2's wider layer gap, which allows it to diffuse big ions more effectively than equivalent semi metallic graphite.

Tungsten Ditelluride Solution Synthesis and Characterization

Alfa Chemistry customizes WTe2 solutions for its customers. The product contains WTe2 flakes in a dispersed isopropyl alcohol solution. Because of its superior dispersion, stability, and performance, we recommend WTe2 flakes suspended in isopropanol as a default. If your research demands something else, we also provide dispersions in ethanol, isopropanol, deionized water, NMP, and other solvents. For further information, please contact us.

Tungsten Ditelluride Solution Customization

We first produce high-purity WTe2 crystals with a purity of 99.9995 percent, and then ultrasonically disperse them into diverse dispersions (99.9999 percent purity of electronic-grade chemicals). Because the ultrasonic vibrations in the liquid medium stimulate exfoliation, which helps to exfoliate and make nanoflake dispersions, we chose the liquid phase exfoliation approach to prepare unique solutions. Sonication to delaminate will yield extremely crystalline WTe2 monolayers, few layers, and thick layers since the starting crystalline material is highly crystalline. Depending on your needs, we may create monolayers, few-layers, multilayers, or even bulk layeredsolutions.

The WTe2 custom solutions are stable under ambient conditions and can be easily deposited on the substrate or surface of your choice. The lateral dimensions of WTe2 flakes deposited on different substrates range from about 10 nm -10 um, while the thickness ranges from 1 L to thicker flakes. the structure, chemical composition, crystallinity, composition and surface of WTe2 nanomaterials have been measured by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), electron energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDAX), Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

We primarily ship supersaturated 2D solutions to save shipping costs and simplify the customs protocol/border inspection process. The concentration of these solutions varies depending on the type of 2D layer. Once in the hands of the customer, the supersaturated solution can be diluted into a bulk solution and then deposited onto the required substrate using a simple and cost-effective 2D layer process.
