Rhenium Disulfide Solution Customization

Rhenium disulfide (ReS2) is a naturally occurring but relatively rare TMDC that is environmentally stable, making it an excellent choice for environmental applications. Due to its modest interlayer coupling, ReS2 is a direct bandgap two-dimensional (2D) layered semiconductor with good optoelectronic characteristics. ReS2 is also an antimagnetic semiconductor with biaxial optical and electrical properties, as well as an n-type photovoltaic with a 1.4 eV optical gap. ReS2 nanosheets are often used in the fabrication of field-effect transistors and energy storage devices such as rechargeable batteries, photocatalysis, and electrocatalytic hydrogen precipitation reactions (HER).

Rhenium Disulfide Solution Synthesis and Characterization

Alfa Chemistry provides customers with customized solutions containing ReS2 monolayers and few layers, which are solutions of ReS2 flakes in a dispersion medium. Ethanol, isopropanol, deionized water, and NMP are just a few of the sorts of dispersions we may give. Because of its environmental stability, thermal stability, dispersing qualities, and non-contamination, ethanol is employed as a dispersion in our unique products. Rhenium Disulfide Solution Synthesis and Characterization

Alfa Chemistry prepares tailored solutions using liquid phase exfoliation (LPE), a simple but cost-effective solution processing technology. To achieve high quality ReS2 sheets dispersed in solution, we use pulsed ultrasonication of high quality ReS2 crystals manufactured using the flux zone approach. Ultrasonic treatment of stripped ReS2 layers yields extremely crystalline ReS2 monolayers, a few layers, and some thick layers suspended in solution, as the material ReS2 crystals are very crystalline.

Custom solutions are stable in ambient conditions and may be simply applied to generate a thin film coating on any substrate or surface. The lateral dimensions of ReS2 flakes deposited on various substrates range from 25 nm to 10 m, and the thickness ranges from 1 L to several layers and multilayers. Various characterizations of ReS2 flakes have been confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), electron energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDAX), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

In order to reduce shipping costs, we mainly ship supersaturated 2D solutions, the concentration of which depends on the type of 2D layer. The supersaturated solution can be diluted to a large amount after it is in the hands of the customer. The customer can then deposit the 2D layer onto the desired substrate by a simple process.
